Crossings and Dwellings transports visitors to a time when the Midwest was the epicenter of transatlantic exchange. Flemish-, French-, and German-speaking Jesuits and women religious emigrated from Europe to help settle new urban immigrant communities. At the same time, they looked westward and engaged indigenous peoples. Join us for an evening with Stephen Schloesser, S.J., professor of history and specialist in 19th- and 20th-century France; and Kyle Roberts, assistant professor of public history and new media and specialist in the production of virtual libraries.
